September 18-24: Banned Books Week
September 18, 2022
Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. It brings together the entire book community — librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek and express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.
PFLAG National is a member of the Banned Books Week coalition as well as the Book Ban Busters coalition, to help ensure LGBTQ+ people and their families have the tools, resources, and support they need to fight censorship in their community.
Stay up to date on all things Banned Books Week as PFLAG National continues to update their #ReadWithLove landing page on their website. You can also register for September’s PFLAG Academy Online all about how to #ReadWithLove and fight book bans.
