The Rainbow Shield program was created to bridge the gap in culturally resilient services for the LGBTQ+ and HIV+ military and veteran communities. The goal of the Rainbow Shield program is to end negative experiences in service and advocacy settings based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and serostatus for service members, veterans, and their families. The 2021 Rainbow Shield Training will be facilitated by Dorian Rhea Debussy, Ph.D., (they/them) [formerly known as Timothy R. Bussey, Ph.D.], the Associate Director for the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Kenyon College, where they specialize in fostering LGBTQ+ inclusion and equity on campus.
