July 1-3: Merrie Monarch Festival on KFVE

Since 1963, the Merrie Monarch Festival has contributed to a renaissance of Hawaiian culture, providing a platform for cultural practices and values that are honored and passed on from generation to generation. Traditionally, it’s a week-long event held in Hilo, Hawaiʻi each spring, featuring a premier hula competition. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2021 Festival performances will take place without a live audience from June 24-26, and will then be broadcast on KFVE from July 1-3.
