IHS Founder’s Day 2021 Service Projects

August 14, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Institute for Human Services, Inc. (IHS) is celebrating its 43rd anniversary of caring for Hawaii’s homeless and at-risk households, and the local nonprofit organization encourages the community to give back by joining a service project on Founder’s Day 2021.

Open to individuals, families, and corporate groups/organizations — Founder’s Day service projects include gardening and planting, donation sorting, mural painting, community clean-up, meal service, and more.

Previously known as The Peanut Butter Ministry, IHS was established by the late Father Claude DuTeil in 1978. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has grown into the leading provider of human services in the state. IHS now serves thousands of Hawaii residents each year, providing housing and utility assistance, employment aid, children’s programming, emergency shelter, and meals.
