Application deadline: April 1 | Kuleana Academy
Kuleana Academy offers participants an opportunity to examine their own political kuleana and develop an understanding of how to engage in the issues that matter to them and their communities. Sessions provide leadership development, community organizing, communications, and advocacy skills as well as campaign training sessions conducted by professional trainers, plus educational sessions on and a broad array of policy and community issues led by our Alliance Educations Partners.
The program is geared towards individuals from across Hawaii with a track record of community service and engagement who are seeking to grow their political leadership, advocacy and organizing skills. Whether it is running for elected office, managing a political campaign or honing advocacy and organizing skills, Kuleana Academy provides in-depth training, mentorship and connection to a community of like-minded leaders.
HAPA’s Kuleana Academy is not an electoral activity; it is a non-partisan educational program. HAPA and the Kuleana Academy will not:
endorse any political candidates for public office.
make any campaign contributions (monetary or in-kind).
ask candidates to sign pledges on any issues.
Online curriculum will run from May to August 2021. Details will be announced shortly.
