March 3, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The Social Network Theory of Homophily states that “birds of a feather flock together,” suggesting that similar people are more likely to be friends and share information, including information surrounding HIV prevention strategies. This colloquium will describe foundational social network theories and three studies which examine how personal networks can identify opportunities to surmount structural barriers to HIV prevention among racial/ethnic, sexual and gender minority communities.
