Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaiʻi returns to Ala Moana Beach on May 29, 2023 as an in-person ceremony. “Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaiʻi is a ceremony of personal and collective remembrance, reflection, and offering gratitude to all who have supported us. We are strengthened as a community as we uncover our common values through supporting one another.”

In pre-pandemic years, Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaiʻi brought together an estimated 50,000 people at Ala Moana Beach who were joined by thousands from around the world via live streaming and telecast to honor of loved ones while generating collective hope toward the future.
