National Coming Out Day at UH Mānoa
October 11, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
UH Mānoa LGBTQ+ Center’s annual fair celebrating National Coming Out Day will take place Friday, October 11, 2024, 10am-2pm in the Campus Center Courtyard at UH Mānoa. Thereʻll be more than 25 LGBTQ+ and ally organizations, churches, service agencies and sports associations in attendance, plus music, drag performances and more.
First celebrated in the U.S. in 1988, Coming Out Day is grounded in the feminist and gay liberation spirit of the personal being political. For many people, coming out to family, friends and colleagues is the most basic form of activism, and the first step in living life as an openly LGBTQ+ person.
For more information, contact Camaron Miyamoto, Director of the UH Mānoa LGBTQ+ Center at camaronm@hawaii.edu.
