June 2024 Queer History Teach In
June 2, 2024 @ 6:00 am - 9:30 am

Invisible Histories is hosting their annual Queer History Teach In on June 2nd, 2024 at 11:00am CST (6am HST). This virtual teach-in will host LGBTQ+ storytellers, memory workers, and community archivist from across the U.S. to share stories of LGBTQ History from their communities. These stories will center local LGBTQ+ figures, community groups and orgs, protests, businesses, art and culture–and so much more.
Invisible Histories locates, collects, researches, and creates community-based, educational programming around LGBTQ history in the Deep South. Invisible Histories believes archiving is resistance to oppression and history leads to liberation. In our work, we center joy and community while never erasing the painful and complicated experiences of our folks. We WILL save our stories, one box at a time.
This event is free to attend, but a donation of $10 per person is appreciated. The event will be hosted on Zoom and the link will be sent out two days before the event and again on the day of the event.
