Glade Wall Unveiling and Legends Show
March 19 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Free
The Glade Show Club was a celebrated nightclub in Chinatown famous in the 1960s for its “Boys Will Be Girls” revue and as a place of safety and refuge for Hawaiʻi’s diverse LGBTQ+ Māhū communities. This legendary history is now being brought alive at the Maunakea Marketplae, the original site of the club, through a dynamic history wall featuring pictures, video, and a glowing replica of the original neon sign.
The unveiling ceremony is free and open to the public and will be followed by a live performance by some of the Glade’s living legends in the Maunakea Marketplace Courtyard.
Don’t miss this joyful community celebration, reminding us of why Hawaiʻi has always and will continue to be a very special place that welcomes everyone.
