Sometimes we want to be supportive of a family member or friend, but we don’t have the right words or understanding. Wahiawa United Methodist Church is an LGBTQ+ affirming congregation, and they are hosting an online workshop for the loved ones of LGBTQ+ people who want to learn practical ways that they can be affirming.

Rev. Denyse Barnes, an ordained United Methodist pastor, will offer advice and provide a basic overview of LGBTQ+ language. Recognizing the real harm and trauma caused by Christians, Wahiawa UMC hopes to offer a space where those who seek to be loving can learn how to affirm our LGBTQ+ family and friends.
