The Return of Kapaemahu – Free Show on the Kūhiō Beach Hula Mound
November 26 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until December 17, 2025

Produced by Lei Pua ʻAla Queer Histories of Hawaiʻi, and composed and directed by Kumu Patrick Makuakāne, The Return of Kapaemahu shares and honors the long-hidden story of the Healer Stones of Kapaemahu—a sacred site of healing and inclusion in Waikīkī that commemorates Hawaiʻi’s legendary gender-fluid healers. The show takes place under the banyan tree on the Kūhiō Beach hula mound, just steps from the stones, every Wednesday at golden hour – 6:30-7:30 PM.
