Would you like to help preserve their story? This June\, Hawai‘i Public Radio is partnering with StoryCorps to gather two-person conversations as part of StoryCorps’ Military Voices Initiative. \nWhether it’s stories of service… stories of being marginalized… or stories that fall somewhere in between… HPR expects your stories to be as nuanced and diverse as our island communities. All are invited to participate\, from service members and veterans and their families\, to residents who have been impacted by military actions. StoryCorps sessions are intimate conversations between friends or loved ones\, so HPR is looking for pairs. \nWhere are the recordings taking place?\nHPR and StoryCorps will facilitate approximately 50 recording sessions. Each recording session will take about 40 minutes. SUMMARY:Exploring the Peer Mediator Experience
DESCRIPTION:The Peer Mediation Conference has been bringing together youth peer mediators (ages 8 to 18 years old) for over thirty years. This is the second year the conference has gone virtual to connect peer mediators around Hawai’i and others aspiring to develop their own peer mediation program. \nLearn about the peer mediators experience as it relates to the issues of mental health\, bullying\, and relationships\, and discuss the lessons learned from this year’s private dialogue sessions with Hawaii High School students\, and by alumni peer mediators.The events are free and open to everyone who wants to learn more about peer mediation. We encourage youth and adults that work with youth to attend. \nThe Matsunaga Institute\, residing in the College of Social Sciences\, UH Mānoa\, is a multi-disciplinary community of scholars\, students\, and practitioners who\, through academic programs and outreach\, promote cross-cultural understanding and collaborative problem-solving.

DESCRIPTION:This year marks the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s (HRCF) 20th edition of the Corporate Equality Index (CEI)\, the premier survey benchmarking tool on how corporations across the United States and beyond are adopting equitable workplace policies\, practices and benefits for LGBTQ+ employees. The inaugural edition of the CEI included 319 participants\, with 13 companies achieving top scores. The 20th-anniversary edition of the CEI now includes over 1\,200 participants and more than 800 top scorers.
