DESCRIPTION:On average\, one person dies in a traffic crash on Oʻahu streets every week\, and kūpuna are especially vulnerable. DESCRIPTION:The Harm Reduction Services Branch of the Hawaiʻi State Department of Health is conducting a survey on HIV Prevention in order to strengthen and tailor HIV prevention services in Hawaiʻi.  Because this survey focuses on HIV testing and HIV prevention strategies like PrEP\,  input is needed from people who have NOT been diagnosed with HIV and are living in Hawaiʻi. This survey will ask questions about your background\, risk behaviors\, testing\, prevention\, attitudes and beliefs around HIV and other infections. Some questions may be sensitive in manner. \nResponses will be anonymous\, private\, and secured. DESCRIPTION:Invisible Histories is hosting their annual Queer History Teach In on June 2nd\, 2024 at 11:00am CST (6am HST). This virtual teach-in will host LGBTQ+ storytellers\, memory workers\, and community archivist from across the U.S. to share stories of LGBTQ History from their communities. These stories will center local LGBTQ+ figures\, community groups and orgs\, protests\, businesses\, art and culture–and so much more. \nInvisible Histories locates\, collects\, researches\, and creates community-based\, educational programming around LGBTQ history in the Deep South. Invisible Histories believes archiving is resistance to oppression and history leads to liberation. In our work\, we center joy and community while never erasing the painful and complicated experiences of our folks. DESCRIPTION:A new data analysis of the Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Survey Natural Data Tables found that LGBTQ+ disaster displacement is nearly 2x higher than cisgender\, heterosexual displacement\, and LGBTQ+ individuals are more likely to have negative experiences during and after disasters.
