SUMMARY:Kai Gaspar ULU Book Launch
DESCRIPTION:Join the community on Sunday\, October 8 at 2pm for a reading and signing in celebration of the debut of ULU by Kanaka ‘Ōiwi poet and teacher Kai Gaspar. ULU is described by Emelihter Kihleng as giving voice to themes of “broken family\, queer exploration\, and aching love of land and culture.” \nIt’s a poetry trifecta–Kai in conversation with poet Brandy Nālani McDougall\, and art prints by artist and poet Dan Taulapapa McMullin. \nMcMullin’s art is on the cover of ULU\, and five images from the publication will be shown at book launch on the second floor of the @artslettersnuuanu building\, home to Native Books. All art is available for purchase\, and sales support community arts. \nLearn more.
