SUMMARY:Affirming LGBTQ+ Workshop with Rev. Denyse Barnes
DESCRIPTION:Sometimes we want to be supportive of a family member or friend\, but we don’t have the right words or understanding. Wahiawa United Methodist Church is an LGBTQ+ affirming congregation\, and they are hosting an online workshop for the loved ones of LGBTQ+ people who want to learn practical ways that they can be affirming. \nRev. Denyse Barnes\, an ordained United Methodist pastor\, will offer advice and provide a basic overview of LGBTQ+ language. Recognizing the real harm and trauma caused by Christians\, Wahiawa UMC hopes to offer a space where those who seek to be loving can learn how to affirm our LGBTQ+ family and friends. \nFor more information\, please contact office@wahiawaumc.org. \nThe training will be on Zoom on Sunday\, October 17 from 2-3:30 p.m. To attend\, click here.
