Foster Garden displays a mature and impressive collection of tropical plants. Some of the magnificent trees in this 14-acre garden were planted in the 1850s by Dr. William Hillebrand. SUMMARY:Old Pali Road Hike + Beach Hiking Event
DESCRIPTION:Another wonderful Aloha Bears and Hawaii’s Queer Hiking & Activities Group event is scheduled for February 26\, and ALL are welcome! Old Pali Road is a 2.5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Kaneohe\, Oahu\, Hawaii that offers the chance to see wildlife. The trail is primarily used for hiking\, walking\, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail. Bring hiking/comfortable shoes\, at least 2 liters of water\, sun protection/hat\, a towel and snacks. The organizers ask that participants be sober with no recreational drugs in their system in order to be fully present\, meet other people and enjoy the hikes. \nFor more information click here.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Hawai’i Gay Kickball League and the Hawai’i Queer Hiking & Activities Group on Sunday\, Jan 22nd to mālama ‘āina and restore the ‘āina at the Kawainui Marsh in Kailua with Hui o Ko’olaupoko (HOK).\n\nKawainui\, Hawai‘i’s largest wetland\, is threatened by overgrowth of invasive plants such as bullrush\, cattail\, water hyacinth\, and water lettuce. These plants crowd out areas of open water\, reducing habitat for endangered wetland birds such as ‘alae ‘ula (Hawaiian Gallinule)\, ‘alae ke‘oke‘o (Hawaiian Coot) and ae‘o (Hawaiian Stilt).\n\n\nVolunteers will assist with hand-pulling of invasive plants\, while also replanting areas with native wetland plants.
