HIFF encourages filmmakers to submit works from any genre\, and is especially interested in feature films\, documentaries\, short films\, series\, Hawai‘i-themed films\, and films by indigenous Pacific filmmakers. \n• Late Deadline – July 15\n• Student Showcase (K-12) Deadline – Sept 19\n• DKII Future Filmmakers Deadline – Sept 23 \nThe 42nd Annual Hawai‘i International Film Festival will be a hybrid event held November 3 – 27\, 2022 in person on the islands of O‘ahu\, Kaua‘i\, Maui\, and the Big Island and online nationwide. \nScreenings\, events\, Q&As\, and talks\, will take place both in-person in Honolulu in theaters and outdoors\, and will stream online across the United States. HIFF will mark the festival’s 42nd edition with a continued focus on contemporary Asian\, Pacific\, and North American cinema\, films produced in Hawai’i\, outdoor screenings\, and their Student Showcase and Daniel K.
