In this session Dr. Jessica Barry will cover:\n• Why it’s important to get an accurate diagnosis of dementia?\n• What the difference is between dementia and normal aging?\n• Types or causes of dementia\n• Treatments of dementia\, including medications and non-pharmacologic\n• The priority of safety issues with dementia (wandering\, driving\, etc.)\n• The “team approach” to dementia care\n• The future of dementia care \nThis workshop series is sponsored by Catholic Charities Hawaii in collaboration with Hale Kuike and made possible by the Elderly Affairs Division of the City & County of Honolulu through Federal Older Americans Act funding.
