SUMMARY:ILGA 2022 World Conference | LGBTIQ Youth: Future Present Change
DESCRIPTION:“LGBTIQ Youth: Future Present Change”\, is the ILGA (International Lesbian\, Gay\, Bisexual\, Trans and Intersex Association) 2022 World Conference (May 2-6). The largest global gathering of LGBTIQ changemakers\, the conference is offering\, for a $30 fee: \n\naccess to online platform with daily schedule of events and opportunity to personalise the participant’s profile\nlinks to sessions that are streamed and/or interactive\naccess to recordings post-session\nonline chat space\n\nLearn more and register here. \n\nThe theme of the 2022 conference is: “LGBTIQ Youth: Future Present Change” \nChange: our world has never needed it more than now. Covid-19 is only one of the emergencies that our planet is facing: climate change\, sexism\, racism\, social injustice\, economic disparities are only a few of the deadly presences we are battling against. Crises build upon the damages made by other crises. Those who are already marginalised end up struggling to survive even more.  \nLGBTIQ communities have always stepped-up in times of hardship\, and we are again called to bring radical\, positive change. Youth have been a crucial presence in social justice movements: the way they mobilise others\, speak truth to power and weave intergenerational alliances is a powerful force for our community\, and society as a whole. LGBTIQ youth are our future. They are also our present. And together we can change the world.

SUMMARY:Belong: Where Every Employee Matters
DESCRIPTION:UHA Health Insurance\, Hawaii Business Magazine and the Hawaii Employers Council present this webinar on cultivating safe work relationships and encouraging inclusion\, connection\, and equity. With Francis Choe\, External Affairs Director at Hawaii Employers Council\, and Ikaika Regidor\, Senior Programs Director of YMCA of Honolulu\, Nu‘uanu Branch\, will be sharing their personal stories of inclusion\, trust and belonging\, told from an employee point of view. \nAttracting and retaining top talent is critical to the long-term success of any organization. According to a recent study by McKinsey & Company\, organizations with inclusive cultures report significantly higher rates of employee retention and job satisfaction. In an era where staff shortages are commonplace\, inclusivity can become a key competitive advantage. \nPer the study\, employees in inclusive companies are 47% more likely to stay\, 90% more likely to go out of their way to assist a coworker\, and seven times more likely to say their company is high performing. \nAlso participating in the discussion will be Francis’ mentor\, John Komeiji\, General Counsel and Vice President of Kamehameha Schools\, and Ikaika’s mentor\, Reina Purvis\, Executive Director of YMCA. We’ll hear from both leaders as they responded to their employees’ struggles\, gained their trust and worked to provide a safe\, inclusive environment that embraced diversity and equity. \nThe free webinar will be moderated by Michael Story\, Senior Workplace Wellness Advisor at UHA Health Insurance. Space is limited. Register here.
