DESCRIPTION:Oʻahu homeowners struggling because of the pandemic may be eligible to receive financial assistance\, mortgage counseling\, and other resources to help them avoid foreclosure under a new State of Hawaiʻi program that launched on Friday\, January 21. \nQualified applicants may be able to receive up to $30\,000 in funding through the program to help cover mortgages\, property taxes\, utility payments\, homeowner association fees\, and other expenses. \nPriority will be for homeowners who are: \n\nbehind on their mortgages due to the pandemic\nEarning at or below 100% area median income (AMI) or are considered socially disadvantaged\n\nThe program is managed by the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement on behalf of the State of Hawaiʻi. DESCRIPTION:Each year\, Anaina Hou’s Social Awareness Film Festival features a theme that focuses on the opportunity to enlighten and create understanding on a broad range of topics that speak to the challenges and beauty of being a human being on this amazing planet; things like agriculture\, the environment and climate change\, art & culture\, socio-economic issues\, LGBTQIA+ issues\, geopolitical issues\, revolutionary changes\, race\, religion and immigration. The theme for this year’s SAFF is Voices. \nIn the tradition of SAFF\, each evening will feature a talk story discussion with the director or someone from the film. Various live stream features allow for different ways to be involved with the director discussion. Select films will feature a private link to watch the film at any time on the day it screens.
