The trail follows the ridgeline of the Koolau Mountain Range and provides stunning panoramic views and lush vegetation including a peaceful Cook Pine forest and progressive views of the city/ocean. It is considered moderately challenging\, culminating in steep stairs for a real cardio push. You will need good cardio for this hike. 🙂\nThe trail can become muddy if there’s rain.\nBecause this is a residential neighborhood with barely any parking\, PLEASE please consider joining a carpool\, listed below.\nwww.tinyurl.com/QHikeCarpool\nMeeting spot\nhttps://maps.app.goo.gl/pUyB7chrqdFpJv2i6 \nRank: Intermediate\, with hard stair climb at end.\nNew ranks out of 10\, 10 being hardest\nTrail quality 5/10\nElevation 7/10\nDistance 7/10\nPlease bring comfortable shoes\, at least 2 liters of water\, sun protection/hat\, insect repellent and snacks. Remember that you want to be present\, enjoy the hikes and meet other people\, so ideally be sober and no recreational drugs in your system.\nMeet us at the entrance to the hike by 9:00 am. Please be very mindful of the neighborhood parking. This area is notorious for residents ticketing and towing cars even for the smallest issues (spacing from the curb\, etc.) We recommend parking a few blocks further down from the trailhead to avoid the hassle.\nAlso\, we will be meeting closer to the trailhead to limit the noise and not disturb the residents.\nAny questions please contact Glenn at oahuqueerhiking@gmail.com.
