This is your chance to hear from a panel of esteemed advocates about why it’s important to cast a vote in support of the equality amendment. \nRegister for the forum at the following link: YES ON 1 VIRTUAL FORUM. You can also support LGBTQ+ rights by donating today to the campaign. \nLet’s come together this election to vote YES on question 1 and strengthen the freedom to marry for all of Hawaiʻi’s people.

SUMMARY:Aloha Kāua at ʻĪao Theatre / Maui
DESCRIPTION:Following its Oʻahu premiere\, Noa Helelā’s Aloha Kāua historical drama about “ka wa ia Kaomi” during the early part of the reign of Kauikeaouli\, plays at Maui’s historic ʻĪao Theater\, March 8 and 9. The play is directed by Taurie Kinoshita of the Hawai’i Conservatory of Performing Arts at Windward Community College. \nAloha Kaua is a timeless tale of love\, sacrifice\, and courage in a time of repression and uncertainty\, peppered with humor and witty dialogue. Kauikeaouli (Kamehameha III) fell in love with Kaomi\, who could heal with his hands\, diagnose illnesses\, and rebelled against the values and laws being imposed by the missionaries. As their love deepens\, Kauikeaouli is inspired to resist oppressive colonial morality: he brings back hula\, free love\, drinking\, games\, and Makahiki. Outraged by Kauikeaouli making Kaomi his Mō‘ī ku‘i (joint king)\, Christian chiefs try to stop the young Kauikeaouli. Some resort to violence\, turning their anger on Kaomi and demonizing him for leading the king down what they believed was a dangerous path. \nLearn more and purchase tickets: \nMaui: General admission is $20. SUMMARY:Queer Hiking Group Kuliʻouʻou Ridge Hike Sunday Jan 25
DESCRIPTION:Kuliʻouʻou Ridge\nSunday January 25\, 9am-2pm\nDistance: 4.4 miles round trip\nDog friendly\, although stairs at the end can be challenging for dogs. \nAre you ready for a fun challenge? Join us to start your new year right with friends\, views\, and cardio!\nConsistently ranked in the top 10 trails on Oahu\, the Kuliouou Ridge Trail is located in the eastern part of Oahu near Hawaii Kai. It is about 4.4 miles round trip and takes 3- 4 hours to complete. The trail follows the ridgeline of the Koolau Mountain Range and provides stunning panoramic views and lush vegetation including a peaceful Cook Pine forest and progressive views of the city/ocean. It is considered moderately challenging\, culminating in steep stairs for a real cardio push. You will need good cardio for this hike. 🙂\nThe trail can become muddy if there’s rain.\nBecause this is a residential neighborhood with barely any parking\, PLEASE please consider joining a carpool\, listed below.\nwww.tinyurl.com/QHikeCarpool\nMeeting spot\nhttps://maps.app.goo.gl/pUyB7chrqdFpJv2i6 \nRank: Intermediate\, with hard stair climb at end.\nNew ranks out of 10\, 10 being hardest\nTrail quality 5/10\nElevation 7/10\nDistance 7/10\nPlease bring comfortable shoes\, at least 2 liters of water\, sun protection/hat\, insect repellent and snacks. Remember that you want to be present\, enjoy the hikes and meet other people\, so ideally be sober and no recreational drugs in your system.\nMeet us at the entrance to the hike by 9:00 am. Please be very mindful of the neighborhood parking. This area is notorious for residents ticketing and towing cars even for the smallest issues (spacing from the curb\, etc.) We recommend parking a few blocks further down from the trailhead to avoid the hassle.\nAlso\, we will be meeting closer to the trailhead to limit the noise and not disturb the residents.\nAny questions please contact Glenn at oahuqueerhiking@gmail.com.
