DESCRIPTION:Hawaii Women In Filmmaking (HWF) is offering several programs running December 2021 – May 2022 focusing on youth and young adult filmmakers. The HWF Video Lab is a virtual space for youth participants to get help for any film projects\, to ask filmmaking questions\, and/or start film-related discussions. In LIKE BREATH\, HWF explores different forms of poetry to tell participants’ stories. MAKING MEDIA THE MATTERS is a filmmaking program to develop filmmaking and critical-thinking skills by examining issues in our communities\, and the YOUTH MENTAL WELLNESS REEL CAMP FOR GIRLS is a version of the MAKING MEDIA THE MATTERS workshop with a focus on mental health\, \nHWF’s programs are free\, but have limited capacity. DESCRIPTION:Oʻahu homeowners struggling because of the pandemic may be eligible to receive financial assistance\, mortgage counseling\, and other resources to help them avoid foreclosure under a new State of Hawaiʻi program that launched on Friday\, January 21. \nQualified applicants may be able to receive up to $30\,000 in funding through the program to help cover mortgages\, property taxes\, utility payments\, homeowner association fees\, and other expenses. \nPriority will be for homeowners who are: \n\nbehind on their mortgages due to the pandemic\nEarning at or below 100% area median income (AMI) or are considered socially disadvantaged\n\nThe program is managed by the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement on behalf of the State of Hawaiʻi.
